A new generation, connected to the hospital
The Arctic Sun Stat keeps the family's core technology — ArcticGel™ pads + closed-loop temperature control — but adds the elements essential for the digital hospital: EMR integration via Wi-Fi, continuous monitoring of the patient's thermal effort and an automatic therapy-triggering mode when limits are exceeded.

EMR / WI-FI
Integration with the electronic patient record
Transmits live to the hospital EMR: patient temperature, water temperature, water flow, therapy mode, "Work to Cool" status and the device identifier. It reduces manual documentation and keeps a continuous history of the TTM protocol, useful for research and auditing.

WORK TO COOL
Automatic detection of thermal effort
It continuously monitors fluctuations in the circulated water temperature. When the system detects that it must use more energy to keep the patient on target, it signals that the patient is producing heat — an early indicator of shivering, central fever or a hyperdynamic state.

MONITOR MODE
Automatic therapy activation when limits are exceeded
The clinician sets upper/lower temperature limits. In Manual mode the system alerts when the patient leaves the target range. In Automatic mode the system automatically initiates therapy (cooling or warming) to bring the patient back on target. Useful for managing refractory fever in the ICU.

ERGONOMIE
Redesign based on clinical feedback
The housing was redesigned from a human-factors analysis of the Arctic Sun 5000 generation: integrated cable management, handle height and design for easy manoeuvrability, and a screen viewing angle adapted to bedside use. Faster setup in "stat" situations — hence the name.
