POINT-OF-CARE HEMATOLOGY

HemoScreen

CE-marked portable complete blood count analyser — lab-quality results in 5 minutes from a single drop of blood. For medical practice, emergency, oncology, intensive care and the pre-hospital environment.

THE TECHNOLOGY

AI-assisted Viscoelastic Focusing (VEF)

VEF is a novel physical phenomenon — protected by over 20 patents — that aligns cells into a single layer, perfect for optical analysis. Unlike hydrodynamic focusing, it needs no diluent and is not sensitive to clogging or vibration. This is the key to miniaturising flow cytometry.

  • Lab-on-a-cartridge: all reagents included, factory-calibrated
  • No maintenance, no daily calibration
  • AI & machine vision — real-time cell classification
  • No cross-contamination (sealed cartridges)

HOW IT WORKS

3 simple steps, accessible to anyone

  1. 1

    Collect the sample

A single drop — capillary (finger) or venous.

  2. 2

    Insert into the cartridge

Sealed cartridge, with all reagents included.

  3. 3

    Read the result

    20 parameters, 5-part diff, in 5 minutes.

CLINICAL EVALUATIONS

What the experts say

Simple to operate, extremely portable and reliable. Non-technical staff learned testing quickly. Useful for acute leukaemia, severe neutropenia and platelet disorders.
Carla Wilson MD, PhD University of New Mexico School of Medicine
Verified performance and usability: extremely easy to use, very accurate — suitable for emergency and primary care.
Prof. Anders Larsson Uppsala University Hospital, Sweden
HemoScreen solves a real unmet need in the oncology clinic — immediate CBC results for chemotherapy patients.
Prof. Robert H. Christenson University of Maryland School of Medicine
Time to result was 20 minutes shorter vs the clinical laboratory. Cost-effective for emergency clinics.
Dr. Elisabeth Aardal University Hospital Linköping, Sweden
A robust analytical method with a single-use cartridge and easy operation — HemoScreen is a good choice for small outpatient clinics.
Prof. Lennart Friis-Hansen North Zealand Hospital, Hillerød, Denmark

CLINICAL APPLICATION

Changing Cancer Care — home testing

As part of the Interreg Germany-Denmark initiative, oncology patients in Denmark were trained to use HemoScreen for the 5-part CBC test required in treatment management — reducing immunocompromised patients' exposure to infection in hospital.

HemoScreen is not approved for home use. The collaboration was conducted under local ethical approval.
