About the product
The STERIS InnoWave ULTRA (and ULTRA+ variant) are the top ultrasonic cleaners for pre-processing complex surgical instruments. Combining ultrasound with pressurized lumen irrigation (sonic irrigation) allows cleaning of instruments with internal channels — where simple immersion would not be effective.
Ultrasound creates cavitation microbubbles in the cleaning solution that collapse at the instrument surface and dislodge even the most adherent organic residue (coagulated blood, denatured proteins). Dual frequency (40 kHz for coarse removal + 80 kHz for fine detail) covers the full range of clinically encountered soil. The ULTRA+ adds integrated pressurized irrigation with adapters for the most common lumens (laparoscopes, trocars, flexible channeled instruments), pre-programmed cycles and solution pre-heating to the optimal enzymatic temperature (~40°C).
